Experimental and Theoretical Study of Heat Transfer by Natural Convection of a Heat Sink Used for Cooling of Electronic Chip

Abstract:- In the present work, heat transfer analysis of a commercially available heat sink is carried out. The heat sink is used for cooling of electronic chip STK4141II and removes the heat generated by the chip through natural convection. The work includes experimental investigations and theoretical modelling. In experimental investigations electrical heating is used to supply heat to the heat sink and the temperature of the heat sink is measured using RTD thermocouples attached to the heat sink. Theoretical temperature of heat sink is predicted employing 2-D modelling of the heat transfer process based on fundamental heat transfer principles. Theoretically predicted temperatures of the heat sink are compared with the measured temperatures.

The Credibility and Plausibility of the Modified Usage of the Activity Based Costing on Strategic Performance of the Egyptian Companies

Abstract:- Companies are now operating in an intensive competitive environment to make significant process improvements in areas such as quality, productivity, and innovation. This is because the customer expects more product choices, but at lower prices, with higher quality and faster delivery. It is also evident that companies nowadays need more accurate, timely, and reliable financial and operational information to permit managers to make effective strategic and tactical decisions about pricing, product line development, process improvements, product mix, investment decisions, etc. This study investigates whether adopting some management accounting systems altogether can contribute to facing such challenges. Therefore, the study tests the impact of applying activity-based costing system (ABC) upon organizational performance of the Egyptian companies in the manufacturing and service sector. Research questions tries to reveal the ambiguity concerning whether the organization will be in a better position by applying ABC system. Information will be collected through questionnaire responses from a random sample of manufacturing companies and service business units located in Egypt. The results of the study indicate that organizations` performance is positively affected by applying ABC.

Performance Evaluation of Iptv over Wimax Networks Under Different Terrain Environments

Abstract:- Deployment Video on Demand (VoD) over the next generation (WiMAX) has become one of the intense interest subjects in the research these days, and is expected to be the main revenue generators in the near future. In this paper, the performance of Quilty of Service of video streaming (IPTV) over fixed mobile WiMax network is investigated under different terrain environments, namely Free Space, Outdoor to Indoor and Pedestrian. OPNET is used to investigate the performance of VoD over WiMAX. Our findings analyzing different network statistics such as packet lost, path loss, delay, network throughput.

The impacts of Njoku sawmill landfill on the water quality of the Otamiri River, Owerri metropolis, Niger Delta Basin, Southeastern Nigeria

Abstract:- The impacts of Njoku sawmill landfill on the water quality of Otamiri river was investigated through bio-chemical analysis of the river and air quality analysis over a period of three years using Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer (AAS) , standard plate count , Growcon gas monitor and digital meters. The results indicates that the mean pH concentrations of the Otamiri river in 2008, 2009 and 2010 were 6.20, 6.32 and 6.25 respectively while the mean total iron concentrations were 4.50, 6.70 and 7.20 mg/l respectively. The mean concentrations of Pb 2+ were 1.06, 1.10 and 1.20 mg/l respectively while the mean concentrations of Cd 2+ were 0.54, 0.60 and 0.70 mg/l respectively. The mean values of Cr 6+ were 0.32, 0.35 and 0.45 mg/l respectively while the mean Mn 2+ values were 0.25, 0.36 and 0.34mg/l respectively. The mean values of Ni+ were 0.04, 0.05 and 0.08 mg/l respectively while the mean total coli form were 95, 105 and 85 cfu/100ml respectively .The results of ambient air quality indicates that the concentrations of SO2 were 14.6, 12.3 and 16.7ppm respectively while NO2 concentrations were 0.20, 0.25 and 0.34ppm respectively. These values do not conform to United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) 2004 standard for safe air quality. The mean biological oxygen demand (BOD) were 6.0, 6.2 and 7.5 mg/l respectively. The mean pH, total coli form, BOD, Pb 2+,Cd 2+,Cr 6+,Mn2+ , Ni+ and total iron concentrations were not in conformity with World Health Organization (WHO) 2006 standard for safe drinking water and thus constitute a threat to the quality of the River; these pollutants are attributed to the Njoku sawmill landfill. The Sodium Adsorption Ratio (SAR) of the river indicates that it is excellent for irrigation purposes although correction of the pH must be done. The pollution index (PI) of the river shows that it is tending towards its critical value of 1. The results also show that the concentrations of the major constituent captions (Ca2+ ,Mg2+ ,Na+ and K+) and anions (HCO3-, SO42_, Cl- ) conformed to WHO (2006) standard for safe drinking water . The pH of the water can be treated using sodium bicarbonate while the Mn 2+ and iron can be treated using aeration method. The excessive concentrations of heavy metals can be treated using acornic acid while the microbial constituents can be reduced by chlorination.

Objects Clustering of Movie Using Graph Mining Technique

Abstract:- This paper aims to develop graph mining techniques to discover patterns consisting of relationships between objects in movie film. An algorithm was designed to operate over graph data. Our approach includes a mechanism for many steps, first step discrete the movie film into number of frames (still image), second step apply segmentation technique to determine the objects in each frame and extract the features for each objects, third step construct data base consist row for each feature, fourth step construct a graph structure represent each frame, and fifth step apply adaptive graph mining algorithm to cluster the objects and determine the behavior of that objects.

Performance Study of Wire Cut Electric Discharge Machining Process by Using Taguchi's Parameter Design Approach

Abstract:- This research outlines the Taguchi‟s Parameters Design Approach which is applied to optimize machining parameters of dimensional accuracy in wire cut electric discharge machining (WEDM). Analysis of variance (ANOVA) is used to study the effect of process parameters on machining process. This procedure eliminates the need for repeated experiments, save time and conserves the material as opposed by the conventional procedure. The machining parameters investigated are pulse on time(Ton) , pulse off time (Toff),Spark gap voltage(SV) and gap current(IP). A series of experiments are conducted using EDM to related the machining parameters and dimensional accuracy. An orthogonal array has been used to conduct the experiments and raw data and signal to noise ratio are employed to analyse the influence of these parameters on dimensional accuracy. The methodology could be useful in predicting dimensional accuracy parameters as a function of machining parameters and specimen parameters. The main objective is to find out the important factors and combination of factors influencing the machining process to achieve the best material removal rate (MRR). It has been observed that effect of combination of factor for each parameter measure is difficult. In this study MINITAB 15 is used to: find out the effect of each parameter on response characteristic and to predict the optimum setting of control parameters. In this study EN24 Steel is used for the experimental work as work piece.

Hybrid Wind Generator Power Systems Coordinating and Controlling

Abstract:-
Wind energy is the world's fastest growing energy source. The amount of power generated by wind energy depends on the speed of the wind. Because of the intermittent and fluctuating wind speed they are not suitable to micro grid applications unless proper power and energy management strategies are available. Hence a Suitable method of giving stable active, reactive power is required. Hybrid power systems are proposed to overcome the problems with energy storage and power management strategies. Fuel cells (FCs) and electrolyzers (ELs) have high energy storage density. This makes them suitable for long term energy storage systems. In this paper a closed loop control system is presented which is well adapted to integrate the power management strategies. Two power management strategies are presented and simulated under normal and abnormal conditions. it's observed that the ―source following strategy‖ has better performance on the grid regulation than the ―grid following strategy‖. With the long term energy storage systems under abnormal conditions power absorbed or compensated is according to the system requirements.

This investigation leads us to the improving and extending to the above method and expands the results gained by Butris.

Investigation on Effect of Fiber and Orientation on the Properties of Bio-Fibre Reinforced Laminates

Abstract:- The objective of this work is to investigate the effect of fibre type and fibre orientation tensile and flexural shear properties of woven jute and bamboo fibre reinforced epoxy composites by experimentally. Laminates were fabricated by hand lay-up technique in a mould and cured under light pressure for 60 min followed by curing at room temperature for two days. Jute and bamboo laminates were made with a total of six piles by varying two orientation of fibre as to obtain four different samples. Specimen preparation and testing was carried out as per ASTM standards. The results shows the tensile strength and flexural strengths of the jute and bamboo laminates higher at 0/90 orientation and jute shows the highest in both tensile and bending strength.

Some numerical methods for Schnackenberg model

Abstract:- In this paper, Schnackenberg model has been solved numerically for finding an approximate solution by Finite difference method and Adomain decomposition method. Example showed that ADM more accurate than FDM and more efficient for this kind of problems as shown in tables (1,2) and figures (1-4).

Ultra large scale systems to design interoperability

Abstract:- Today by developing of the societies and increasing the enterprise and globalizing the industrial products, the communication among the organizations has remarkable growth. Each one of these organizations has its own special software. These softwares have several platforms and are implemented with different programming languages. Therefore the integrity and interoperability among Ultra large scale systems in secure environment are highly needed. The presence of heterogeneity in software industry has made the integrity and interoperability of the applications very hard and complicated. Therefore one cannot perform integration with traditional interactions and standards. Therefore a novel method of integration should be established. In this paper, we have examined the methods of establishing interoperability and then a suggested design would be offered. Our suggested design that is a three-layered model and has been built based on the web service technologies and semantic web, will remove the existing challenges (or it is a solution to remove the existing challenges).

Different Proposed Models to Mapping MDA to RUP

Abstract:-
Different methods such as object-oriented, component-oriented, aspect-oriented, and service-oriented are proposed to establishing Software engineering over the past decades. Model driven development is one of the methodologies that had considered recently and is growing rapidly. Reducing of the production expenses and preventing software intricacies is one of the software engineering aims modeling the program logic and then changing model to a practicable code by some tool automatically will be the aim of the model driven development. In this paper we investigate some model driven methodology and also we'll preferred MDA mapping to RUP.
