Flexural Behaviour of Steel Fibers Reinforced High Strength Self Compacting Concrete Slabs

Abstract:
Steel Fibers Reinforced High Strength Self-Compacting Concrete (SFRHSCC) of high ductility was developed. An experimental program was carried out to evaluate the contribution of steel fibers reinforced high strength self compacting concrete for the flexural resistance of reinforced concrete slabs. A total of six reinforced concrete slabs were tested, grouped in three models. All slab models have thickness equal to 10cm, dimensions equal to 110×110cm and were reinforced by high tensile steel of 710/m. Model one is used as a control model and was cast from ordinary concrete only. Self compacting concrete with steel fibers volume fraction equal to 0.0% and 0.75% was studied in model two. High strength self compacting concrete with steel fibers volume fraction equal to 0.0, 0.75% and 1.5% was studied in model three. Taking the experimental results and performing an inverse analysis, a stress-strain diagram was obtained to characterize the post-cracking behavior of the developed SFRHSCC. In addition, a finite element analysis using ANSYS ® program, was utilized to model the tested slabs. The comparison between numerical finite element results and experimental results of the slabs previously tested by the authors is then presented and discussed. A reasonable agreement was found between the finite element analysis and the test results, therefore the finite element test program is extended further beyond the experimental limits to investigate the behavior of some more (SFRHSCC) slabs. In this extension a parametric study was carried out using the validated model to study the effects of increasing the concrete compressive strength as well as the steel fibers volume fraction.

Enhancement of Prefix Chiper in Format Preserving Encryption

Abstract:- "Security, like correctness, is not an add-on feature."-- Andrew S. Tanenbaum The above quote (taken from Cryptography Quotation page) is trying to say that security is not something extra, but it is something essential. Nowadays most sensitive information is transferred through the internet. Cryptography is very useful for network security. It consists of Encryption and Decryption. Using Encryption the plaintext is converted to unreadable Ciphertext. Format preserving encryption ( FPE ) means during encryption process the format and data type of the plaintext will never change . FPE is a string encryption scheme that made minimum changes to the plaintext. Black and Rogaway constructed three main techniques for format preserving encryption such as prefix cipher, cycle walking and Feistel network with cycle walking. I examine the prefix cipher model and add some enhancement in this model to propose a new method PREFIX - II.

Web Mining Patterns Discovery and Analysis Using Custom-Built Apriori Algorithm

Abstract:- Mining web data in order to extract useful knowledge from it has become vital with the wide usage of the World Wide Web. Web Usage Mining is the application of data mining techniques to discover interesting usage patterns from web data. In this paper, a Custom-Built Apriori Algorithm is proposed for the discovery of frequent patterns in the web log data. This study has also developed a tool to discover the frequent patterns, association rules in the web log data. In this study, Web log data of Christ University web site is analysed. The experiments conducted in this study proved that Custom-Built Apriori Algorithm is efficient than Classical Apriori Algorithm as it takes less time.

Study of Optical Character of Nano-antenna

Abstract:- In this research paper metallic optical nano-antenna has been presented. The characteristics of optical nano-antenna and its dependence on the geometry and materials have been studied. Some special types of nano-antennas have been presented and their potential applications have also been described. If the size of an antenna is shrunk to the nano-scale, it could have potential applications in Nano-photonics. The Nano antennas can also be used to generate electronic surface waves known as "surface plasmons". This is done by confining electromagnetic waves between metallic nano-structure and a dielectric.

Smart Card based Robust Security System

Smartcard are regularly "secure" movable units. It is an elevated amount outline system for installed informative data frameworks. Normally a smartcard consist a memory or a microprocessor chip. Mainly this paper presents an integrated system for high security objectives. Such as: defense, and nuclear or any critical entering areas. This system is operated with the three factors; they are having a smartcard, password, and any user specific identification components. These may be: fingerprint, or any facial elements. The purpose of this application is to limit the access of the unauthorized person to high security locations, based on access rights of different persons.

Protective Effect of Salacia Oblanga and Quercetin on Cyclophosphamide-Induced Chromosome Aberrations in Rat Bone Marrow Cells

Abstract:- Medicinal plants, especially rich in polyphenolic compounds, have been suggested to be chemopreventive on account of antioxidative properties. Salvia officinalis L., an aromatic and medicinal plant, is widely used in folk medicine and is well known for its antioxidant properties. Therefore, the present study was designed to investigate the possible genotoxic, and oxidative stress potency Salacia oblanga and quercetin against cyclophosphamide (CP) in Wistar albino rats. Rats were administered orally Salacia oblanga: SO (3g/kg/day) and Quercetin: QE (50 mg/kg/day) for 15 days. After the same doses of SO and QE given for 15 days, rats were intraperitoneally administered CP (40 mg/kg) on days 14 and 15 of the experiment. Toxicity evaluation was carried out as a mutagenicity test i.e., chromosomal aberrations (in-vivo) with pharmacotoxic symptoms observed, as drug induced toxicity was not observed in chromosomal structural changes especially pulverization and polyploidy. Root bark extract of (Methanolic 80%) Salacia oblanga was found to be safe at the dose of 3 g/kg b.wt, administered orally for 15 days, and the results compared with Quercitin and the positive control cyclophosphamide, a known mutagenic compound. Genotoxic effects were examined in bone marrow, followed the LPO and GSH oxidative damage in liver tissues evaluated. Significant decreases in the levels of antioxidant enzymes (superoxide dismutase, catalase and glutathione peroxidase), reduced glutathione and mitotic index were observed. QE completely and SO partly decreased chromosome aberrations and aberrant cells compared to CP alone. Results from the current study suggested that QE and SO supplementation attenuates CP induced genotoxicity through a mechanism related to their ability to decrease oxidative stress and inflammation, In addition, SO and QE may play a role in reducing cytogenotoxicity induced by anti-neoplastic drugs during cancer chemotherapy.

Machine Readable Travel Documents Using Visible Light Communication

Abstract:- Use of visible light for communication is an old concept. E.g.: Smoke signals or lighthouses for guiding ships have been used for centuries. However, there has been very little work related to use of visible light to transfer streams of data. A major step towards this was completed by Professor Harald Haas and was demonstrated by him making use of LED lamp for data transfer. However, this experiment was very costly. In this paper, we propose to make use of hardware that are already integrated on various mobile platforms like LCD/LED screens and cameras as the senders and receivers for visible light communication, in applications where small amount of data needs to be transferred. We propose the use of an electronic passport, the key to which would be saved on you mobile phone in an encoded format. The key would be transmitted from the mobile phone to the passport checking authority's desktop/laptop using visible light communications, upon which the passport can be retrieved from a database and verified by the authority. This would eliminate the need of an actual physical passport to be carried while travelling from one country to another.

Top-K Influencing Itemset on Data Streams - A Comparative Study on Simple Sliding Window and Sliced Sliding Window

Abstract:- The notion of sliding window is to identify the vigorous itemset in which the vigorous itemset refers to the newest itemset that comes in recently. The simple sliding window permits the newest itemset to come inside and also allows the oldest itemset to move outside. The sliced sliding window splits the sliding window into slices. Each slice in the sliding window permits the newest itemset to come inside and also allows the oldest itemset to move outside. The simple sliding window uses the Brute Force Approach and the Event Processing Approach for determining Top-K influencing itemset on data streams. The sliced sliding window uses the Improved Brute Force Approach and the Improved Event Processing Approach for determining Top-K influencing itemset on data streams. The sliding window identifies Top-K influencing itemset on data streams based on preferences and multi-dimensional analysis. The paper compares the CPU time, accuracy as well as efficiency of both the sliding windows. Experimental evaluation using the real and synthetic dataset shows that the sliced sliding window is accurate. Also, the sliced sliding window reduces the CPU time.
