Abstract:Abstract: - Traffic jams in India are very common and are so intense that it would take hours to travel for miles; also the temperature is more than the average temperature inside the helmet, at that particular situation rider will face discomfort. Mainly accidents will occur by attending the calls while driving. By providing the Bluetooth device inside the helmet we can avoid the handy talking and also it is very difficult to find the person where he met with an accident. To resolve this issue we developed a helmet which gives better solution to this current problem. This helmet is equipped with cooling device modules which will reduce the temperature by using the external power as solar energy, this Bluetooth device is inbuilt in a helmet so we can continue the call without removing of helmet and during the case of accident this helmet uses GSM with the help of GPS can message the precise location of the accident to a preset number..

Kevin Anderson ||, Steve Cunningham ||, Martin Stuart ||, Chris McNamara

Abstract:Recent trends in engine design have pushed the state-of-the-art regarding high power-to-weight ratio engines. This paper described the polygon oscillating piston engine invention. The engine configuration presented herein makes it possible to package a large number of power producing pistons in a small volume resulting in a power to weight ratio of approximately 2 hp per pound, which has never before been realized in a production engine. The analysis and design of a lightweight, two-stroke, 6 sided, in-plane, polygon engine is summarized this paper. The engine can be configured to operate as an internal combustion engine that uses diesel fuel, gasoline, Jet-A, or natural gas, or it can be configured as an expansion device to convert high pressure high temperature gas to rotary power. As an expansion engine, the two-stroke engine design modified to function in a supercritical carbon-dioxide (SCO2) Rankine waste-heat recovery renewable energy application.

Abstract:The Telemedicine is a new form of improvement of health care quality through new information and communication technologies, it also creator of a new services facilitating the daily lives of patients with chronic diseases such as cardiac insufficiency, like professionals, allowing them to be in permanent relation with their patients receiving vital and pertinent parameters representative of their physiopathological states. We propose in this work the presentation of a telemedical interface development dedicated to telemonitoring of cardiac function through a correlative analysis. This interface comprises a DTE (Data Terminal Equipment Medical Treatment) which is dedicated to recording of the myocardium electrical activity (electrocardiogram ECG) revealing an eventual deficiency of cardiac function, using an electrocardiographic amplifier constructed around a microcontroller 16F876A, Charged to digitizing the signals issued from EDTM and transfer them to a terminal local computer. A Soft interface is developed on Visual Basic environment, which is charged to control the acquisition, correlative analysis, archiving and the transfer of a medical data through medical networks via TCP / IP protocol for purposes such as prevention of sudden death, therapeutic monitoring, medical assistance at home and the urgent intervention of telemedical actors

An automated cocoa drying house for use in a small developing country
Nadine Sangster ||, Terrence Lalla ||, Runul Roberts ||, Kristopher Meyers ||, Kevin Rampersad

Abstract:For a number of years, sun drying has been the best method of drying cocoa because Trinidad and Tobago is a tropical country and it receives rays from the sun more directly than areas in higher latitudes. The cocoa is normally sun dried in cocoa houses which require the cocoa beans to be covered manually with changing weather conditions. This is a time consuming task. In addition, the recent trends show declining and almost nonexistent cocoa production due to the labour shortages faced. This worked looked at developing a design and testing the prototype for an automated cocoa drying house in a small country, Trinidad and Tobago. The prototype included features such as an automated roof, automatic heaters, an automated fermenter and a remote control feature for the automated components. Initial testing with farmers showed that there was interest in the product.

A. Rajesh ||, K. Vedhagiri ||, L.Sivaprasanth ||, R. Vengatesh

Abstract:Ventilated brake discs are used in high speed automobiles. The brake disc is an important component in the braking system which is expected to withstand and dissipate the heat generated during the braking event. In the present work, an attempt is made to study the effect of vane-shape rotor on the flow-field and heat transfer characteristics for different configurations of vanes for different running speeds using commercial CFD tool. Two types of rotor configurations circular pillared (CP) and diamond pillared radial vane (DP) were considered for the numerical analysis. A rotor segment of 20° was considered for the numerical analysis due to rotational symmetry. The pre processing is carried out with the help of ICEMCFD and analysis is carried out using ANSYS CFX 12.1. The governing equations namely conservation of mass, momentum and energy are solved for the analysis. The predicted results are validated by the experimental studies available in the literature. The mass flow rate, heat dissipated by the circular pillared vanes are compared with the diamond pillared vanes. The heat dissipation rate through the diamond pillared vanes is more uniform at higher speeds

Ahmad Rasuli ||, Hamed Rashidi ||, Mortaza Khoshvaght

Abstract:Oil price and its products together with environment issues results in increasing the attention toward waste recycling of different chemical and petrochemical sectors. In this study, separating and recycling Glycols family from Salt/water impurities in Morvarid Petrochemical Sector has been investigated. The petrochemical company did not considered any special unit to recovery its wastes and it seems necessary to design a new unit for recycling valuable products from wastes. To do so, Aspen Hysis simulation software has been used to design and optimize the process of separating glycols from water/salt solutions. Sensitivity Analysis has been performed on simulation model to optimize the process. The results show that MEG,DEG, TEG, TTEG can be recycled to the system with the flow rate of 5.01, 2.039, 0.062 and 0.089 respectively.

Improved Particle Swarm Algorithm to Solve the Vehicle Routing Problem
Min He ||, Dazhi Pan

Abstract:Vehicle routing problem is a NP hard problem. To solve the premature convergence problem of the particle swarm optimization, an improved particle swarm optimization method was proposed. In the first place, introducing the neighborhood topology, defining two new concepts lepton and hadron. Lepton are particles within the scope of neighborhood, which have weak interaction between each other, so they update speed and position according to the individual extreme value. Hardon are the local optimal particles, which through collide to produce strong reaction, so set the local optimal particles collision with the global optimal particle to update speed and position. Finally, when the algorithm step to stagnation, we take particle decay to increase the population diversity. Simulated experiments show that stagnation behavior of basic particle swarm optimization are avoided in improved particle swarm algorithm and a good ability of searching better solution in process of solving vehicle routing problem.
